1   |   WHAT'S UP DOC?

Hi friends and colleagues,

WOW, what a week. Last week was like no other week in business. Three clients called for a total of seven bookings that “went to contract.” Thank you ALL for spreading the word about “The Safety Doctor.”
Our solid content “peppered with humor” seems to be what meeting planners and businesses are seeking. As money becomes tighter and margins slimmer, organizations want a Return on Investment (ROI) return on their expenses and not just entertainment. Plus, clients want customized information and not canned, off-the shelf speeches.

I take pride in working with “the client” to deliver a customized message to their organization......hey, I don’t want a black Model T's...... 2004 and I want a customized car and I expect my clients do, too!

So, if you know someone looking for a safety speaker for his or her next meeting or conference, you can send them my web address with certainty that they will be pleased with the result. Please forward our web address www.TheSafetyDoctor.com or have them call 407-291-1209.
Again, thanks for spreading the word about us!

2   |   PERSONAL SAFETY TIP

80% of luggage is lost because it was improperly tagged. Before you leave your luggage with the ticket agent or sky cab, check to see if the identification tag has the designated 3 letter code of your final destination. You can find 3 digit city/airport codes on your ticket or on the internet.

3   |   WORKPLACE SAFETY TIP

Help your production managers and conduct safety training on weeks other than “end of month” and “end of quarter.” Often times, this is “push time” for them and they need all the workers “on deck.” They will appreciate your thoughtfulness and understanding of their situation and be more cooperative with your safety efforts in the future.

General Duty Clause

Not only do employers have responsibility for safety in the workplace, did you know employees have a legal responsibility to follow the safety rules? The General Duty Clause sets forth this information in the Preamble to the Act.

  • Each employer

    1. Shall furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees.

    2. Shall comply with occupational safety and health standards promulgated under this Act.

  • Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to this Act which are applicable to his own actions and conduct.
